Ohio Department of Taxation Online Services - eForms

Welcome to Ohio eForms - Payment Information

eForms

There are two available payment options that can be selected on any business eForm. Together, these options offer a total of four methods of payment. Each option and method is explained below. Please note that, depending on the method selected, an additional fee may be due to a third party vendor, or the taxpayer may be required to register with the Treasurer of State.

Making payments for business taxes using eForms

When business taxpayers complete the eForm, there are two available payment options to select and four possible payment methods :

  • Select Electronic Payment and pay by:
    • Credit card. All credit card payments are processed by Official Payments Corporation, which charges a convenience fee of 2.5 percent or $1, whichever is greater, on the amount of the transaction. State government does not receive any portion of this fee.
    • Electronic check. In this payment method, also known as ACH debit, the taxpayer supplies a bank account and routing number to the Ohio Department of Taxation and authorizes the deduction of a specified amount on a specified day. Taxpayers may delay this transaction until payment is actually due.
  • Select Pay by Check and pay by:
    • Old-fashioned check. Taxpayers who choose the "payment voucher/check" method pledge to send in a traditional paper check by mail. All paper checks must be accompanied by a payment coupon known as a 40P, which the eForms software will offer to print out for the taxpayer.
    • ACH Credit. In an ACH credit transaction, the taxpayer instructs his or her bank to transfer funds from the taxpayer's account to the state. When paying by ACH credit, simply file the return and proceed directly to the Treasurer of State's Web site at eft.tos.ohio.gov to pay. Taxpayers do NOT need to send in the 40P if they are paying by ACH credit (however, this option requires prior registration with the Treasurer of State at eft.tos.ohio.gov).
