Ohio Department of Taxation The primary function of the Ohio Department of Taxation is the collection and administration of most state taxes, several local taxes and the oversight of real property taxation in Ohio. The department also distributes revenue to local governments, libraries and school districts.
The department's mission is to provide quality service to Ohio taxpayers by helping them comply with their tax responsibilities and by fairly applying the tax law.
